Best football September in memory
I realize the season's early, but I don't think I've ever had it this good with regard to September success for my favorite teams on the football field.
The neighborhood FMJags are 3-1. (Marcus is also 3-1, for those of you who favor the northsiders.)
My alma mater SMU Mustangs are 3-2.
The Dallas Cowboys are 2-1.
Thanks mostly to SMU's dismal showings of recent years, I don't think I've had a situation where all my favorite teams are playing above .500 at the same time.

SMU really turned it around after a bad start to the season. After losing to a really bad UNT team, I thought we might actually lose to either Sam Houston or Arkansas State. However, we didn't just beat them - we blew both of them out. Tulane was a better team with an emotional home crowd and we managed to come back to beat them too. These are traits of a decent football team that SMU fans have not seen in a long long time. UTEP is a step up from Tulane and they almost beat Tech. If we beat UTEP, the sky's the limit. If not, we'll have to be happy to get a 6-5 season.
