What is "Midnight Rodeo", and are we getting one at Grapevine Mills?
Amongst all the construction going up across FM2499 from Grapevine Mills Mall, there's a new small sign that promises something called "Midnight Rodeo", which I've never heard of before.
A Google search turns up a collection of country-western dance halls and concert venues in places like Austin, San Antonio, Houston (Katy) and even Amarillo and College Station.
Dust off your boots, all y'all Hummer-driving, Starbuck-swilling suburbanites! Time to kick up some %#@$!
Anyone ever been to one of these before?

Midnight Rodeo is a standby for college students and has been for years. There was formerly a location in Lubbock that was well-attended for over a decade but eventually closed down to make way for a shopping center, the club was re-opened under a different name at a different location in the city, and is once again one of the most popular clubs around. If this new location ends up similar to its counterparts elsewhere, it will include a large elliptical dance floor (with a bar in the middle), it will host concerts, and it will provide some of the best drink specials around. They also go 18 and up a couple of nights a week. It appears as though they are banking on pulling in those who used to go to the Midnight Rodeo in their respective college town. Not a bad idea, it's a fun place, might be nice to not have to drive to Addison to have a good time.
Has there been any new progress with this Midnight Rodeo construction? I have looked it up under the City of Grapevine website and the owners of this establishment have approval to start building. We are eagerly awaiting this place to get up an running, to avoid trips across the metroplex to other establishments of this type.
