Appraisals -- front and center Monday night at Town Hall

Both the News Connection and the Messenger have articles this weekend regarding concerns over the Denton County Appraisal District. After badgering the DCAD for weeks, this week the News Connection fawns over two of their senior staffers, who agreed to join TNC editors and Mayor Smith and Councilwoman Long in a joint discussion/interview. Seems like the DCAD was able to assuage any of the TNC's long-held concerns about fairness and equity.

The Messenger article previews a public hearing at Monday night's council meeting (download agenda) in which DCAD officials will defend their practices and address Flower Mound resident concerns. Could be a good hearing, worthy of Tivo. This appears to be the highlight of Monday's meeting, unless you count approval of minutes or "coordination of calendars" more exciting.
