A good deal: 10% off at Tom Thumb through August

Update 8/19/06: Thanks for some loyal Road readers, I've learned this appears to be an inside sale only. Not every Reward Card holder gets the additional 10% off. Perhaps we got it here because we spend about $5,000 a year at that store. I guess store-loyalty counts for something now and then.

Tom Thumb at FM2499/FM3040 is quietly giving its Reward Card customers an additional 10% off its grocery purchases through the end of August. I don't know what qualifies for the discount, but my guess it's pretty much everything except for alcohol, cigarettes, prescriptions etc. Let me know if there's important details I've overlooked.

I'm sure the southside Thumb is for one last time rrying to build some customer loyalty before the new Kroger Signature store opens in a few weeks, over at FM3040 and Morriss. Watch for more deals (better deals probably!) from both stores when Kroger opens.

I was there today and I didn't get an addtional 10% off. How did you hear about it?

Hmmm.

1) Did you go to the Tom Thumb at 2499 & 3040?

2) Did you use your Reward Card?

There are some exceptions for purchases, like those noted in the post, plus gift cards, lotto tickets, postage stamps. But for pretty much everything else, it should be 10% across the board.

We got a flyer in the mail a few days ago, plus it's noted on my receipt that I'm entitled to 10% off my purchases through August 31.

If you can verify #1 and #2, I'd call the store.

Let me know!

I received a door flyer and coupon book that the Tom Thumb on 407 is having its Grand Re-Opening this weekend. 10% off on Friday, the 18th for all grocery purchases of $50 or more.

Hubby went to Tom Thumb yesterday and didn't get the discount. When he asked the cashier, he was somewhat evasive and then admitted that said that SOME people were getting the discount, but he wasn't sure who qualified. So, it's only for "select" customers.

Hmmm...guess I'm not "select" either. I went yesterday and bought all sorts of things - no discount for me beyond the normal reward stuff.
